SEO - Standards
Below are a few guidelines that Graphik Solutions bases our standard keyword, description, and title tags on. These are just guidelines to help you effectively add keywords that help improve your ranking. Remember that adding keywords that have nothing to do with your webpage is effectively called "Spamming" and you run the risk of possibly being black listed from major search engines.
Titles
Titles are more important than keywords. Your page titles should have the keywords positioned into a sentence that is no more than 70 characters long, including spaces. The first couple words are the most important. Where do you see a title? The title is shown at the top of your browser and is shown as the link line when doing your searches.

Descriptions
Descriptions are a must have. They are not overly important, but they should be there. Descriptions are used by search engines to display a few sentances about what that page has to offer. Your keywords should be placed in sentences in your description. Descriptions should be no more than 170 characters including spaces.

Keywords
Keywords are descriptive words for your company. You should have no more than 20-25 words (200 - 250 characters, including spaces) per webpage. You should not use the same word more than 2-3 times, otherwise this is considered a type of "spamming". When inputting keywords - make them unique to the page you are on. Do not reuse the same keywords on all pages, as this will confuse search engines as to what page to send the searching user to. It is okay to have different keywords on every single page, this is a way to have the search engines catalogue each and every page of your website.
Headings
Headings should also have some of the keywords that are on your page. Google uses headings to catalogue your content according to what your website has in it.
To specify a heading tag you need to select it from the format drop down after you login to your website. Heading 1 is the usual heading that is catalogued.

Address
Your address should be added as text - not an image to the bottom of all pages, so search engines can catalogue your website along with your location for added results.
